South End Monitoring Cam

Still a work in progress this year. For the first several weeks of the summer I think I had the camera set at too close a range so it did not pick up activity across the road where folks put in. I'm getting closer to the solution now, and attach a representative photo of August activity, from a sunny Sunday Aug 20.

I will revisit location next year and see if I can collect more systematic data.

Of course there is no real way to know if any of the water craft going in at the South End carry AIS. But at least for this season, the only craft I saw (in person or in photo) were paddle craft - no trailers.

By the way, this has been a great way to get the word out - each time I check the camera I run into folks and advertise the AIS work we do via CLCA.
