One beautiful day with the faintest of wind and brilliant sun (9/15/24) allowed an easy patrol of zones 9,10 and 11 along the west side and right up to the bottom of Near Isle. The littoral plain on that shoreline is narrow and it was not unusual to find a very low amount of native plant growth along it, this includes the three tiny islands and even up by Near Isle where the plain expands. So different than what you find on most of the east sides of Zone 10 and 11 where the growth can be heavy.
In addition, I took advantage of the lake being so flat and shot over to Smith Cove to capture some photos of the nice clump of Native milfoil, by grid # 281. Standing above it on the paddle board offered a view of the plants’ collective soft pinky red glow. So pretty.
